Is your event going to be blogable?
The blogging trend is not only changing the way companies communicate with customers – it’s also seen the rise of a host of new words. While working on our new blog, we’ve come across a spate of words that could soon be hitting boardrooms across the world.
blogable adj. describing events, people or opinions that are worthy of being blogged.
“Yesterday I had dinner with Anders Fogh Rasmussen, definitely a blogable event.”
blogebrity n. a blogger who is famous or popular.
“Aaron Bateman is becoming something of a blogebrity.”
microblog v. to post short entries to a blog, particularly through instant messaging software or a cell phone.
“Microblogging is so quick and easy, I can do it on my way to work.”
mullet strategy n. refers to websites such as YouTube, CNN, MySpace and HuffPost that have standard home pages or landing sites containing no surprises and a little advertising, but a lot of user content once you enter the site. The strategy’s namesake is a haircut commonly referred to as a ‘mullet’, or ‘svenskehår’ in Danish, presumably because there’s not much at the front, but a lot at the back.
