Michael Best
Creative Director
Michael brings with him 21 years of experience as an innovation consultant and creative director in the USA and, more recently, in Denmark. His projects range from branding and identity campaigns to online marketing systems and first-in-class internet portals.
Innovative prototype goes live
Michael’s portfolio includes co-managing a large prototype project for the US Defense Department to develop a supply chain internet portal for the United States Air Force. His aim was to simplify the work flow, communication and supply chain management processes.
Since going live, the portal has reduced lead times from six months to less than 30 days, and has made planning, forecasting and critical event management much easier.
Branding and visual identity for technology start-up
When Visicu, a web-based intensive care unit (ICU) monitoring provider, needed to brand its product, Michael was brought in. Designed to offset the shortage of hospital intensive care specialists, the product enables physicians to monitor patients through a series of video cameras linked by a private and secure data network.
Michael developed a brand identity and marketing system that highlighted the technology, while communicating a commitment to safe patient care. Elements included graphics for print advertising, web applications, trade shows and other marketing tools. Visicu has achieved impressive growth and is now a publicly traded company on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange.
New image leads to new markets
Milliken Carpet, a leading carpet manufacturer, wanted a new brand identity to help it tap into the architectural design market. Over six years, Michael raised Milliken Carpet’s brand identity through a unified brand image, and created marketing systems that include catalogs, trade show exhibits and interactive product demo CDs for hundreds of product launches.
Michael has a Masters of Fine Arts in Visual Communication from Towson University. A strategic and conceptual thinker, he brings creative energy and a fresh approach to any project. And when he’s not at his drawing board, he’s usually sailing somewhere in Øresund, the seas between Denmark and Sweden.
