What’s the Big Idea?
With 16 different business segments, Semco Maritime needed to develop a coherent communications strategy that would unite the company under one brand. In a one day workshop, Kathryn helped Semco identify its value proposition and distill its ‘Big Idea’.
The result is a unified and strong brand that helps the company resonate with its target audience – and the core message was so successful it formed the backbone for all the material Kathryn wrote for Semco Maritime’s new website.
A semi-precious wordsmith
A popular line of jewelry was looking for a fresh approach for its autumn campaign. The campaign involved a variety of target groups and multiple formats – but the real challenge was in the messaging.
Market research showed that customers weren’t aware of the level of quality in the company’s products, so this campaign needed to engage and educate customers. Kathryn worked with the company’s marketing department and its existing brand platform to carefully communicate the line’s level of quality and craftsmanship through storytelling.
Technology with a customer focus
A leading manufacturer of electronic and mechanical components was trying to help customers understand the many benefits of its flexible product range. But the highly technical features were difficult to understand – and demonstrating their real value was tough. So Kathryn began working with the company to produce a series of articles for its website.
With a customer focus that showcased the company’s green technology and automated, energy-efficient products, the articles were a huge PR success. Customers could at last clearly see the benefits, and the articles helped generate business across a wide range of industries.
