Helen DyrbyeTranslatorBorn in Lowestoft, England, Helen has a B.A. honours degree in English and Psychology (joint) and launched her career as Public Relations Assistant at the Scout Association headquarters in London. After moving to Denmark, she became a freelance language consultant in the private sector and is now devoting her energy mainly to translating. Everything from web texts to annual reports and enough project management manuals for her colleagues to describe her as an efficient live wire with respect for deadlines and a keen eye for detail. Although Helen taught business English and grammar in the private sector for well over a decade, she would rather improve a tricky sentence than spend time arguing the nuts and bolts of syntax. Writing is her passion. She is principal author of The Xenophobe’s Guide to the Danes, author of No More Time for Paisley and Grandad Gets to Babysit and her Guide to Childminding is currently with a publisher.
